L.A. DRUGS “SINFUL YOUTH” (2003)
originally recorded by Sin 34 (Spinhead, 1982)
cover version available on L.A. DRUGS (Twisted Village, 2003)
I have the pleasure of calling the members of L.A. Drugs my friends.
Formed circa 1999 in Allston, Massachusetts (the student ghetto of Boston), the trio recorded two records—a self-titled release recorded by Jeremy Harris (ex-USA is a Monster, Lazy Magnet) on Twisted Village records (owned by Wayne Rogers and Kate Biggar of Major Stars, Magic Hour) and a heretofore unreleased cassette.
Sin 34, who recorded the original track, were a teenage punk band from Los Angeles who opened for many a seminal punk band—among them, Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedys, the Minutemen, and so forth.
LA Drugs dissolved shortly after their record release. Their shows were anarchic, crazed, completely free-form. Members have gone on to be in Major Stars, Dreamhouse, Life Partners, and Ganja.
